In my first year as a college student comes to an end, I am starting to look back at how blessed I truly was this year at CMU. I was blessed with the perfect mentor who truly became my ‘mentor of the year.’ If I hadn’t had Liz Colvin as my mentor, I don’t think it would be as easy for me to be excited to have my own mentee as I am. After years of exposure, knowledge and growth I have come to a personal conclusion that the concept of “leadership” is not as simple as a ‘yes’or ‘no’ question. We all know of the question, “Are you a leader?” or “Would you consider yourself a leader?” but to be completely honest I don’t think I could answer this question by simply saying ‘yes’ or ‘no’.
